1. Mary Simpson
Mary Simpson, Director, started her early childhood education journey while she was still in high school in Texas and has been hooked ever since. She has been passionate about early childhood for as long as she can remember. She took a break from childcare when she moved to Arkansas in 2007, but was eager to get back into the field after realizing how much she missed it. She does not have any children of her own, however, she considers each of the children here at JLH her children while they are here and love them whole-heartedly. Mary started with Just Like Home in the fall of 2012 as a Lead Teacher in our Infant 3 room. She moved into our Toddler 2 room and finally to Preschool before she was approached by the owner with the opportunity to become the Director. She feels blessed to be in the position she is in today. She absolutely loves JLH and all of the families that we have here.

About Us

Welcome! Just Like Home Childcare - Early Learning Center is a home away from home for your most precious loved ones. We take great pride in providing the highest level of care for children 6 weeks to 5 years of age.

We have put a lot of effort into designing our center to combine important aspects of home life, such as family-style dining, with the benefits a center can provide, such as socialization and trained teaching staff.

Our dream was to design the best possible center utilizing progressive philosophies centered on the most important aspects of our business – children, parents and teachers.  We do many things differently from industry standards.  We took an “if you build it, they will come” approach and have been richly rewarded with many happy families.  Effective parent-teacher communication is crucial to a child’s care and that is why our Lead Teachers work 10-hour days.  Your child’s Teacher will be with your child all day.  We recognize that a stable, reliable and qualified staff is vital.  That is why we hire only full time employees, with previous experience and education in childcare.  We know a happy staff is key to your child’s experience and therefore we strive to make Just Like Home a rewarding place to work in many ways.  We do not combine rooms or send our teachers home when the number of children might allow it.  These and other aspects of our philosophy add to our costs, but the improvement to the quality of care received by the families and children in our trust is unquantifiable.

Our Lead Teachers work four 10-hour days, with a rotating Alternate Lead Teacher filling in on the regular Lead Teacher's day off. We know our parents appreciate the consistency of dropping-off and picking-up from the same teacher who has spent the entire day with their child. Each lead teacher is supported by an assistant that is permanently assigned to your child's room, five days a week.

Because we know that consistency in your child's care is of the utmost importance, we understand we have to treat our employees well too. We hire full-time employees because reliability and consistency is important to children, parents, employees and our center.

We require that ALL staff be adult, child and infant CPR and First Aid certified.

We provide:

• Low ratios: We strictly adhere to low Teacher:Child ratios.

• Webcam portals: password protected, so that parents can view their children and the care being provided at their own convenience.

• Family-Style Dining: helps children develop appropriate dining manners.

• Controlled Access: with fingerprint activation, so that your child is protected and parents can enter with ease.

• Qualified full-time staff: provides parents with peace of mind and children with the consistency they need.
Our Director
Lynn has 20 years experience working with children and has been a manager in other industries as well.  She started working in childcare as a preschool teacher when her son was a Toddler. As a first-time parent Lynn struggled with trusting others to care for her son. Lynn went back to school for early childhood education.

After working in the classroom for three years, she went back to school to complete the courses necessary to become a credentialed Center Director. She was a Center Director for over ten years with a national childcare corporation and managed centers in Florida and Texas.

Lynn moved to Fayetteville Arkansas with her husband, daughter and two large dogs, June 2018. Her son now lives in Tennessee where he is finishing up his shore duty for the Navy.
